Holy Daughters of El Kabong, I have to wonder if I am seeing a broken record unfold before my very weary eyes at Victoria Street these past several weeks.

It's a broken record of wasted set pieces, wasted corners, and wasted deliveries inside the six yard box.

It's a broken record of botched marking and blown assignments, a gluttony of space surrendered to the opposition, and a back line that even the best of English non-League teams could run rings around.

It's a broken record of sloppy execution, decrepit pace, and poor passing to go with finishing that deserves its share of howlers and hisses.

It's a broken record of dysfunctional play that only Bruce Arena's Los Angeles Galaxy could deliver. Two months of this broken record that I speak of has culminated with their latest setback—a 2-0 shutout loss to Peter Vermes's Kansas City Wizards.

For someone who has been following this team since we first started this season, I am wiping my hard-earned frames and making this declaration: the wheels are still off, and the Galaxy are searching in vain for them.

For some odd reason unfamiliar to me—maybe it's just divine intervention or just the fact that these teams shot blanks on Saturday—the Galaxy still have the best record in Major League Soccer.

I don't know what has gone wrong for this side. Bruce Arena continues to make up excuses, excuses, and more excuses for the lack of production from everyone on the Galaxy side.

Here's something that I have been chewing on the past few days like Trident: I have been pondering the possibility of the Galaxy using the 4-5-1 formation instead. It's a definite shakeup from the 4-4-2 diamond formation preferred by Arena, but it's a system that my good friends from the BigSoccer forums have been touting. So, dearest Bruce, you might want to consider going with a 4-5-1 for the rest of the year and see where this leads you.

Something needs to change from the Galaxy team—and fast. They need to get some new wheels, some new motivation, anything to give them a jump start. On Saturday, this Los Angeles team had none of those, and you can't win without fuel for your fire.

And speaking of fire, LA travels to Toyota Park in Bridgeview next week to take of the Chicago Fire in the penultimate road outing.

Make you wonder if they will find their wheels by then. Will they? Stay tuned...

INS & OUTS

Chicken Thief No. 7: Davy Arnaud

Our next heister of the fowl with foul intentions is the Wizards' captain, who received a pass from Kei Kamara on the transition to earn his third of the year in the 12th minute.

Nothing fancy, just proof that the Los Angeles Galaxy backline is THAT bad. Now I have been following non-League football in England for some time, and I actually think that with the way the Galaxy's backline is performing...even the likes of AFC Wimbledon could shred this team. It's just inexcusable to give up goals in that fashion.

But to Davy Crockett's defense, you have to say...Very. Well. Played.

A Salute to the Youth Academy

The Los Angeles Galaxy Youth Academy Under-20 side were honored at halftime for their runner-up finish in the USL Super-20 League to the Columbus Crew (who, ironically, the Galaxy will face in two weeks' time at the Home Depot Center on the ninth anniversary of the Twin Towers crumbling down).

You wonder if the first team might have wanted to use the services of some of the best players from that side on Saturday night.

The Galaxy Youth Under-16 and Under-18 sides begin their 2010-11 season in October. Stay tuned to Bleacher Report and the View from Victoria Street for all the updates on the Journeys to Be of the Young G's.

A New Galaxy Tradition?

An interesting selection of music was played after Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Kansas City. "All The Right Moves" by OneRepublic is a song foreboding certain doom and failure. It was played just before the PA system shut down for the night.

Hey Galaxy FO, can you make it a tradition to play this song after every defeat before you turn off the PA? It would give all the fans enough closure before they make the long drive home.

Just a suggestion...
