Happy times are here again! Winning 2-1 against the pesky Kansas City Wizards, the Red Bulls have clinched a playoff spot. With the victory and the Columbus Crew draw against the San Jose Earthquakes, the Red Bulls now sit atop of the Eastern Conference with three games remaining in the regular season.

Playing without Rafa Marquez (due to injury), the dynamic duo of Dane Richards and Bouna Coundoul led the way. Since losing to Real Salt Lake, the Red Bulls have gone 3-0-1 in their last four games while outscoring their opposition 8-3.

Morphing into a goal-scoring juggernaut, Dane Richards has clearly been the most aggressive offensive player. By scoring his fourth goal in five games in the sixth minute of the first half, Dane Richards clearly established the tone for his teammates. Playing with swagger, the Red Bulls maintained their intensity and never relinquished their lead.

In a game where spectacular saves was his modus operandi, continues to establish himself as one of the league's premier goalkeepers.  By notching 12 saves tonight, Coundoul earned his 13th win of the season. Along with the win, Coundoul recorded his 10th shutout of the season.

Desperately seeking a win, the Kansas City Wizards aggressively attacked the net without reservation as they attempted to silence the home crowd of 24,799. Despite the dazzling plays of Kei Kamara and Teal Bunbury, the Wizards were unable to find the net.

In a game where superior numbers doesn't result in victory, the Wizards out-shot the Red Bulls 26-10 while taking 12 shots on goal to the Red Bulls five. With the loss, Kansas City trails the San Jose Earthquakes for the final playoff spot.

With the postseason right around the corner, Red Bulls will do something not even the legendary New York Cosmos have done. And that's play a postseason game in their own home, Red Bull Arena. Until then next up for for the Red Bulls is the defending MLS Champions, Real Salt Lake.
